When you have been charged with a crime, you want an experienced and knowledgeable attorney to protect your rights. The criminal justice system can be complex, confusing and intimidating. We will explain the process and discuss realistic results. We do not take every case that comes in the door and we attempt to keep our caseload at a manageable level so you never feel like a number.
I have over 15 years experience in the criminal law field from making the arrest as a Sheriff's Deputy to fighting the arrest as a defense attorney. I started my criminal law practice in 2001 focusing on predominantly criminal defense. I was often told that I could not make it on just criminal defense and that I would have to branch out into other areas. Nine years later my practice is still over 90% criminal defense and is solely based on referrals. To be effective in the criminal defense arena, you have to constantly be in the criminal defense arena. Your attorney must know the solicitors, judges, courts and police officers. Where jobs, jail and reputation is at stake you don't need an attorney who dabbles in criminal defense. You need an attorney who has handled hundreds of drug cases, DUI 's, CDV 's and tickets!
Prior, to the practice of law I worked with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office and spent over four years as a Deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. This insight gained in law enforcement has been invaluable.
